Context
In a high-volume operation, revenue can disappear in places that look routine.
A commission that should not have been paid. A booking charge that was not due. A discrepancy that stayed open because nobody owned the follow-up.
The bigger opportunity was not simply to catch individual errors. It was to build a reconciliation process that made them harder to miss and easier to close.
Problem
The operation was moving, but there was no consistent reconciliation process behind it. Each person could approach the task differently, which meant discrepancies were not always caught, challenged, and closed consistently.
Charges and commissions that were not due could pass through as ordinary operating costs.
That is where the real problem was: the leakage could look normal if nobody was systematically looking for it.
Approach
I built and implemented the reconciliation SOP.
The goal was not to create another document. It was to create a process people would actually use consistently.
The workflow established how discrepancies were identified, documented, challenged, followed up, and closed, with clear tracking for reconciled bookings, disputes, and credit notes.
Find the gap → establish what should have happened → challenge the discrepancy → close the loop.
Because the team was diverse and the reconciliation task was widely disliked, I deliberately made the SOP more visual and approachable rather than relying on a purely traditional format. The light use of professional, relevant memes helped the process reach people who might otherwise ignore a dry SOP and gave the team memorable visual cues to return to when they needed them.
The result was not just a document. It became a reference people actually used.
Result
The public figure is based on a conservative low-season baseline of AED 48,000 × 12 months.
The point is not the biggest number the operation could have produced.
The point is that a repeatable reconciliation process exposed money that was quietly being lost.
